In the last blog post we discussed three different types of meditation to help you end the suffering that pain of all sorts causes and turn it into your power. Here we will explore three more meditations to give you a little more variety to try. Some meditations may work wonderful for one person, but not the next. So it’s important to explore as many different avenues as possible. Okay, let’s go.
Chakra Meditation: Unblocking Energy for Inner Strength
“Pain often lingers where energy is stuck”
Every emotional wound we carry, whether it be grief, heartbreak, betrayal, or fear, leaves an energetic imprint. Over time, if left unacknowledged or unprocessed, that energy can become stuck in the body, causing blockages in our chakras, the energy centers that govern our physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. Chakra meditation works to clear energetic blockages, especially in the heart and solar plexus chakras, where emotional wounds and self-worth struggles often reside.
What are Chakras?
Chakras are spinning wheels of energy that run along the spine, from the base to the crown. Each one corresponds not only to a part of your body but to an aspect of your emotional life. When a chakra is blocked, energy can’t flow freely—leading to emotional stagnation, mental stress, and even physical discomfort or illness.
Chakra Meditation: How it works
Chakra meditation helps us tune into these blocked areas, bringing awareness, breath, and intention to release stored pain. It’s not about “fixing” but rather about creating space for energy to move again: gently, lovingly, and with presence.
Try this quick meditation for trauma stored in the solar plexus:
- Close your eyes and visualize a golden light at your solar plexus (above your belly button and below your ribs).
- Imagine this light expanding, dissolving all fears and self-doubt.
- Say: “I am strong. I am limitless. I am free.”
Crystals to use with the Solar Plexus
The Solar Plexus Chakra is your center of personal power, confidence, and self-worth. When this chakra is balanced, you feel empowered, motivated, and in control of your life. Crystals like Citrine radiate joyful, energizing frequencies that boost self-esteem and attract abundance. Tiger’s Eye provides grounding and courage, helping you take bold action while staying balanced. Sunstone carries the energy of the Egyptian Sun God Ra and encourages emotional intelligence, confidence, self-worth, and clarity.

Mantra Meditation: Speak Your Power Into Existence
“Words Shape Our Reality”
At the heart of Mantra Meditation is a sacred truth: vibration creates reality. Mantras are not just words, they are sound frequencies that align your mind with higher consciousness. When spoken or repeated with intention, mantras can soothe anxiety, dissolve limiting beliefs, and reprogram your inner dialogue with peace and power.
What exactly is a Mantra?
A mantra is a word, phrase, or sound repeated during meditation to focus the mind and connect with a specific energy or intention. In Sanskrit, “mantra” means “mind tool”, a tool to steer the mind toward clarity, healing, and divine remembrance.
Mantras can be:
- Traditional Sanskrit sounds: like “Om”, “So Hum”, or “Om Mani Padme Hum”
- One word that is the focus of your meditation: like “Peace”, “Love”, or “Calm”
- An affirmation of intent: like “I am safe. I am enough. I trust the process.”
The subconscious mind deeply responds to repetition. Repetitive thoughts as well as things you hear and watch on a regular basis plants seeds in your mind and begins to grow. There’s so much negativity in our surroundings, it’s important to feed yourself positive thoughts on a regular basis to invite in a new energetic frequency.
How to practice Mantra meditation
Step 1: Set an intention
What do you need right now? Peace? Courage? Forgiveness?
Step 2: Choose your mantra
Here are a few suggestions to get you started and their corresponding chakras.
- “I am safe. I am grounded. I am held.” (Root chakra)
- “I am open to joy. I embrace my creativity.” (Sacral)
- “I trust myself. I stand in my power.” (Solar Plexus)
- “I am love. I forgive and release.” (Heart)
- “I speak my truth with clarity and compassion.” (Throat)
- “I trust my inner wisdom.” (Third Eye)
- “I am connected to divine light and purpose.” (Crown)
Or use a universal Sanskrit mantra like:
🕉 “So Hum” (I am that)
🕉 “Om Shanti” (Peace for all beings)
Step 3: Sit in a comfortable position. Close your eyes.
Breathe slowly and begin repeating your mantra silently or out loud with each breath. Let the words ripple through your body.
Step 4: Stay with it for 5–15 minutes.
Don’t worry if your mind wanders. This is normal. Just bring your focus back to your mantra.
Step 5: Close with stillness and gratitude.
Feel the vibration you’ve created and rest in the energy.

Body Scan Meditation – Listening to the Wisdom of the Body
“The body speaks what the mind ignores.”
Body Scan Meditation is a profound practice of turning inward—gently bringing awareness to every inch of your body to tune into what it’s holding, storing, or trying to say. It’s less about changing anything and more about noticing. In that noticing, healing begins.
With this mindfulness technique, you slowly guide your attention through different parts of the body, from head to toe or vice versa, observing physical sensations, tension, discomfort, or ease, without judgment.
It’s like gently checking in with every part of you, asking:
“How are you doing today?”
…and allowing whatever answer arises to simply be.
Why it’s healing
Body scan meditation helps to release stored tension from muscles and joints and helps increase awareness and acceptance of internal sensations. This body scanning is also a great tool to bring suppressed emotions to the surface to encourage gentle release. Suppressed emotions often manifest as physical pain and discomfort. Allowing these emotions to surface and release helps in reducing pain, depression, and anxiety. Body scan meditation also activates the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting deep relaxation and healing.
How to practice Body Scan Meditation
Step 1. Set the space
Find a quiet, cozy place. Lie down or sit comfortably, whichever works best for you, with your eyes closed. Use soft music, healing frequencies, or silence. Do whatever feels soothing and supports your nervous system.
Step 2. Take 3 – 5 deep breaths
Let your body soften a little more with each exhale.
Step 3. Begin at the top of your head
Simply notice what you feel: pressure, tingling, coolness, warmth, or maybe… nothing at all. All is welcome.
Step 4. Slowly move your awareness downward.
Once you’ve noticed what you feel in the top of your head and sat with it for a moment, move down to your face, then jaw, then neck, down to your shoulders, arms, hands, chest, and so on on until you get down to your feet.
Head → face → jaw → neck → shoulders → arms → hands → chest → back → belly → hips → thighs → knees → calves → ankles → feet.
Step 5. Pause where you feel tension.
Any place you feel tension, pressure, or pain, pause there and breathe deep into that space. Ask: “Is this mine? What needs to be felt here?” Don’t force answers, just hold space. With each exhale feel discomfort lessen.
Step 6. When you reach the feet, imagine golden light flowing down through you, grounding everything into the earth.
Step 7. Rest in stillness.
Feel what has shifted. Thank your body for carrying you.
You may want to find a guided meditation online when you start doing this. I found that especially helpful in the beginning. Simply search “guided body scan meditation” in YouTube or whatever video platform you use and you should find several to try.
